Apple iPhone 4, the new addition to the Apple family is sure to make your jaws drop! Thinner, lighter and faster, the high-end phone features a 3.5 inch multi-touch screen with a resolution of 960 by 640 pixels at 326 pixels per inch, a 1GHz Apple A4 processor and 512MB RAM.
The iPhone 4 supports UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz) and GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz). The phone features a 5MP camera with LED flash for better picture quality in low-light. The camera is capable of recording HD video in 720p.
There is an integrated 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, A-GPS and a digital compass and storage wise too, you get a choice of 16GB or a 32GB model. Apple has also added a couple of new sensors to the iPhone 4, like the three axis gyro, a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor. Another attractive feature is the FaceTime application that allows you to video chat with your friends over WiFi.
A lot of improvisation has been carried out on the design factor too. The iPhone 4, is now less rounded and has more square edges. It sports a new retina display on the front, which is made of toughened glass. The back of the iPhone 4 is also made from the same toughened glass. A stainless steel band covers the iPhone 4 on the sides (this is where the various antennas are housed).
The iPhone 4 runs on the latest operating system, iOS 4. The major new addition is the iOS 4 multitasking application that lets you switch easily between multiple applications without having to close each one down. ‘Folders’ is another new feature in iOS. You can now organize all your applications in separate folders.
Email has also had a major upgrade now, as there is a unified inbox that lets you see messages from all your accounts in one inbox itself. And at the same time it lets you manage the emails by threads and open attachments in third party applications.
For all of you who use the iPhone a bit more can expect around 36 hours of battery life. This is a huge improvement over the previous models.
